Railroad Night XII
September 22, 2016
Rozsa Center Lobby
This year Railroad Night moved to a new time, and a new location! The event featured an opportunity for students and experts from the rail industry to sit down and relax as they shared conversation, good food, and excellent presentations! We moved to the Rozsa Center to take advantage of the open air feel of the lobby/atrium area. We also shifted the event and our Rail Day and Student Expo to an earlier time slot, in September just before the fall career fair.

The earlier date gave our industry supporters a headstart in talking with students at Tech, before the career fair madness the following week. The evening featured a Meet the Industry panel discussion starting a 5 PM, followed by a social hour from 6-7 PM. Our formal rail day festivities started at 7 PM, and included a keynote pesentation by Mr. Brian Lindamood from Alaska Railroad and past AREMA president, along with conversations with industry experts at each of the dinner tables. Our Railroad Night festivities also featured door prizes for students, funded from the student, faculty, and community registration fees, as well as prizes provided by industry sponsors. This was a great way to open the door to more meaningful conversations during Rail Day on Friday the 23rd.
