The RTP is excited to relaunch our Strategic Internships in Railroads (SIR) partner program to match interested industry companies with Michigan Tech students. The initial program ran 2012-2015 and connected several of our students with companies. The mission of the SIR program is to create continuous and consistent internship opportunities that introduce RTP students to the industry environment and facilitates their development into industry professionals. Through their work, the interns should actively contribute to advance the company objectives and goals.
FOR INTERESTED STUDENTS: Our current industry partners (listed below) are looking to hire minimum one Michigan Tech student for an internship (potentially also co-op) this year. You can find more information on the positions, majors of interest and how to apply in our Info Sheet.
We recommend students put in their applications ASAP. For positions that require the RTP to collect student resumes, we plan to send the packages out collectively by February 10th, so send your resume to Amanda (firstname.lastname@example.org) by February 9th! For direct applications online, follow the instructions in the document.

FOR INTERESTED COMPANIES: Companies interested in the program should contact the Director of the RTP. The details of the program are outlined in the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the partnering company and the RTP. In summary, partners Company pledges to do their best to hire at least one student from Michigan Tech in Michigan Technological University, given position availability and student qualifications, for an internship or co-op position during each academic year in which this MOU is in effect. The partner company name and selected interns will be recognized on this website and in the RTP Annual Report.
