3rd Annual Michigan Tech Rail Day and Student Expo

The Michigan Tech Rail Transportation Program and Railroad Engineering and Activities Club once again hosted this outstanding opportunity for industry representatives to interact with students from all disciplines across campus. This year's event took place on the campus mall, during the balmy September weather in Houghton. We shifted the event to the weekend before the fall career fair to give students and industry a headstart in discussing the opportunities the rail industry presents for jobs, internships, and co-ops. As always, Rail Day was held in conjunction with our annual Railroad Night, although this year the Railroad Night was on the Thursday evening preceding Rail Day.

Rail Day featured industry displays and presentations on the campus mall, and a free lunch (free for the price of a visit to an industry representative!) for students as they explored the many exciting opportunities available. Rail Industry Sponsors joined us to showcase all the industry has to offer, and show our students that railroading is cutting edge, with jobs in communications, power systems, computers, construction, and operations to name a few!
